September Fav Finds

As September comes to an end, here are my fav finds this month!

  • 1. Circe by Madeline Miller- an interesting take on Greek mythology and the quest of finding out who you are (even when you are immortal).
  • 2. Folklore by Taylor Swift- Okay so this album has been on repeat in our house since it’s debut in July. With so many dreamy melodies and mind bending metaphors, it’s easily one of my fav T Swift albums.
  • 3. Eloquent Rage: A Black Feminist Discovers Her Superpower by Brittney Cooper- I used up most of the post-its I have on flagging all the thought provoking statements. Brittney channels her experience as a Black woman, and unleashes her passion for Black female activism into this educational read.
  • 4. Love, Guaranteed on Netflix- My fav rom com that has premiered all summer. Rachael Leigh Cook & Damon Wayans Jr. have great on screen chemistry, so if you’re looking for a cute movie to watch, this ones for you!
  • 5. Tna Alamo Thermal from Aritzia-This long sleeve waffle crop top is the perfect dose of cute and comfy. I got this in the white colour and sized up to a medium to have a baggier and longer look. I am actually excited for the cold weather so I can wear it!
  • 6. The Sleep Over on Netflix- This movie had me laughing so hard that Christian came to ask me what I was watching. This movie is for kids and adults who are “in” for a good time.
  • 7. Outdoor Movies at my sisters: All summer long my fam has been respecting social distancing by having backyard movie nights at my sister Nikki’s house. She has a projector/projector screen which rivals a drive-in, and her snack spread is guaranteed to have you feeling like a kid again (hand sanitizer stations as well).
  • 8. Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous on Netflix- This “kids” show I discovered while watching my ten year old nephew. After him and my boyfriend Christian ditched the show to go play Fortnite, I couldn’t stop watching. Even though it’s marked as a “kids” show, I still jumped out of my seat at the scary parts and I loved every moment of this dinosaur adventure.
