Once Upon a time…
I was a girl who thought she needed a boy to feel loved & worthy.
Admittedly, on my quest to feel loved, I started dating my Highschool sweetheart & did the following:
- Placed him on a pedestal
- Tried to rescue him, even though I drowned myself in the process
- Became so focused on his world that I lost sense of my own (hellooo co-dependence)
- Prioritized making him happy, side lining my own needs
- Had low self worth
When he was unfaithful, we broke up and I:
- Blamed myself
- Was an emotional wreck
- Thought that his new gf must be: better, smarter, prettier, etc
- Believed that I’d never find another “great guy” or one who would love me as much
- Realized that I had no idea who the heck I was
- Started to actually deal with my SH*T
Break Ups changed my life and led me closer to love than any guy ever could.
I am forever grateful to all the guys who broke my heart because breaking up with each “him”, woke me up to the realization that I needed to make up with me.
