Self Love

May the Focus Be with You

It seems fitting that I signed off on my “Walk of Shame” post with the line “in sickness and in health” because the next week I began, what became a series of, intense moments of sickness.

While I’m still uncovering the “take aways” from those experiences, the very thing that I discovered the past couple of weeks, is the same thing I’ve bumped up against during my break ups:

you get what you focus on.

What this meant for me recently is that the more I focused on the people who weren’t supporting me, the more I was blocking out all the sources who were.

Kind of like sunscreen for love.

I was only able to see the “lack” in my life because I was screening everything else out with blinders.

So take your time and energy, and spend it acknowledging what you do have.

Set your own filter.

Focus on the good, and the good will help transform the bad.

See the world through whatever coloured glasses you want.

After all, when it rains it pours, and the more you flood your focus with what you have in your life, the more it will down pour into your world (take your umbrella and have fun!)

Looking forward to seeing you next week, and until then…

May the focus be with you!
